About Rock of Wisdom

Rock of Wisdom UK was founded by Julia Hopper and Geoff Hopper following a mission trip to Zimbabwe in February 2025. During this trip, Julia met Pastor Junior Gwenhe and connected deeply with the vision to build a Christian school in a very rural community where access to education, clean water, and basic infrastructure is extremely limited.

The school is located in Melfort, near Harare, on a large area of land. Parts of the land are already being cultivated to grow corn, vegetables, and fruit trees. A farming and livestock project has begun to help the school move towards long-term sustainability.

Plans also include accommodation for older children, where they will be taught farming and practical life skills, helping them prepare for independent and responsible futures.

Julia Hopper is currently a third-year student at Charis Bible College, Bradford, and remains closely involved in supporting the vision and development of the school.

Geoff Hopper is a retired management accountant and a third-year student at Charis Bible College. He has served as a trustee and treasurer for several charities and brings valuable financial oversight and experience to the project.

Rock of Wisdom UK is working towards forming a board of trustees and completing UK charity registration. Until this process is complete, donations are managed transparently through JustGiving.
